BPO Christmas concert set at Eastern Hills church

Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church expects to fill its 2,200 seats when the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra visits for a 6 p.m. concert on Sunday, Dec. 2 at the church's main campus, 8445 Greiner Road, Williamsville.

Conducted by Paul Ferington, the BPO will feature excerpts from Hansel and Gretel, "Skaters' Waltz," "Sabre Dance," "A Gospel Christmas," "Bellringer's Holiday" and "Sleigh Ride."

In addition, the Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet, the Buffalo Juggling Club and various soloists will make guest appearances. The concert will end with a Christmas sing-a-long.

"The Buffalo Philharmonic always looks forward to its visit at the Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church," said Paul Ferington, BPO conductor for this concert. "Not only is the sanctuary a marvelous place to perform, but the warmth and friendship of the church's fellowship are so reflective of the true reason for the season."

Tickets for the BPO concert are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, and are available at Bender's in Clarence and Life Resources in Amherst, or from the Eastern Hills Box Office at 688-7165.
