Bermans celebrate 60 years

Judith G. and Dr. Leonard Berman of Williamsville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner for family at the Left Bank in Buffalo.
Leonard Berman married the former Judith Goldenberg on Nov. 15, 1947 in Philadelphia.
Leonard, a board-certified general surgeon, practiced at Buffalo General and Children's hospitals for 45 years. He was also a clinical associate professor of surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where he is now a clinical associate professor emeritus. He was a past president of the Erie County Medical Society and served as a physician for the Buffalo Bisons and the Buffalo Sabres.
Leonard was also a founding member and chairman of the Rose and Al Pastor Annual Distinguished Lectureship at Women's and Children's Hospital, where both he and his wife, Judy, served on the Pastor Lectureship Board.
Judith, a former president of the Temple Beth Am Sisterhood, has volunteered for the temple's Social Action Project, serving as project reading tutor at School 45 in Buffalo. Her dedication and efforts as a volunteer for the Jewish Family Service's Meals on Wheels program earned Judith the Jewish Family Service Memorial Award in 1988.
The Bermans are also founding members of Temple Beth Am in Williamsville.
The couple have three children and six grandchildren.
