Witnesses sought in pedestrian accident

The Amherst Police Investigation Unit  responded to 5775 Main St., at the intersection of Evans Street where  a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 7:26 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.

A 13-year-old female from Buffalo was hit by a passenger vehicle traveling east on Main Street. The vehicle was operated by Elizabeth Barkley, 25, of Kenmore.

Twin City Ambulance transported the 13-year-old to Women and Children's Hospital where she was admitted for hip and leg injuries.  Barkley was not hurt.

The accident is under investigation by Senior Investigator Kevin Murphy. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Amherst Police Department at 689-1311 or 689-1349.
