YMCA Sharks tame Cobras

The Northeast YMCA Sharks took a win home from the Kenton Cobras.

Coach Bill Niblock was pleased to announce to the team that the fast pace meet resulted in several swimmers making state qualifying times. Those swimmers are: Courtney Denk, Camryn Sullivan, Kaelyn Sullivan, Alex Skomra, Eilis Johnson, Charlotte Drozda, and Michelle Niblock.

Eight and under swimmers Mikayla-Towles Schwen, Briana Latchford, Elizabeth Jacobia, Anna Zarecki, Tom Hughes, James Hughes, Nicole Jusco, Abby Brooks Lauren Reinhardt, and Simon Becker all achieved personal best times.

Eric Niblock, Patrick Smith, Noah Fortner all competed in the 10 and under boys backstroke and completed with their personal best times, while Julian Marable took first place. Rozie Drozda swam a fast 50 yard backstroke, garnering her personal best, while in the boys 12 and under, Garret Brokaw swam a fast pace as well.

Shark coaches agree that this year's Sharks will be sending a strong state team to Long Island, N.Y. in Spring 2008.
