St. Benedict's finish swim season strong The St. Benedict's Tigers finished its season strong with a win against St. Peter's. The 11 and Over division won thanks to first place finishes by Julian Cavanaugh-Gordon (200 free, individual medley), Lyra Sweeney (50 free) and Nina Anders (breast). The free relay team of Anders, Grace Garlick, Rachael Russell and Cavanaugh-Gordon touched out St. Peter's. The medley relay of Sarah Parish, Christian Fickhesen, Russell and Anders finished second. Fickhesen also got second in the fly; Parish got second in the back. The 9 and 10 division also won. The medley relay of Sarah Boyle, Lennon Cavanaugh-Gordon, Hannah Floss, and Anthony Maisano got first place. Floss (fly), Cavanaugh-Gordon (100 free), Maisano (back), and Mariangela Mercurio (breast) won events. Second place finishes included the free relay team of Cavanaugh-Gordon, Mercurio, Maisano, and Sean Andrews, as well as Michael Tenney (100 free), Rheanne Harrell (50 free), and Boyle (IM). The 8 and under division nearly swept St. Peter's with a score of 70-10. They took first and second place in the medley relay with the teams of Julia Trabert, Christopher Wittmann, Connor Parish and Maya Owens and Mary Trabert, David Matthew, Eddie Anders and Emma Lawley. Parish continued winning with first in the IM and fly. Julia Trabert took first in the breast and second in the back. Wittmann finished second in the breast. Owens finished second in 25 free. William Lawley took first in the 25 free and second in the 50 free. Daniel Azizian delivered two first place performances in the 50 free and back. David Matthew took second in the fly. They swept the free relay with the teams of Anders, Azizian, William Lawley and Owens and Matthew, Wittmann, Mary Trabert and Emma Lawley. |
