Gizas celebrate golden anniversary

Carol A. and Robert H. Giza celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with the renewal of vows at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Lancaster, where they were originally married. Following the Mass, a reception was held at Salvatore's Italian Gardens in Depew.

Robert H. Giza married the former Carol Anne Brown on Nov. 9, 1957.

Robert, who is the Lancaster town supervisor, was a physical education teacher at St. Mary's for 33 years. He is also a past executive director of the Depew/Lancaster Boys and Girls Club.

Carol enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and volunteer work.

The couple are members of St. Mary's church.

They have three children and six grandchildren. A Caribbean cruise is being planned for next year to further celebrate their anniversary.
