Meetings to hold seminar on business The Western New York Regional Education Center for Economic Development announces the sponsorship of a "Seminar for Business," to be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at the Conference Center in Niagara Falls. The purpose of the seminar is to furnish information for companies on the training of employees. It will also provide grant information for companies to access training dollars. Participants in the seminar include Niagara University, Empire State Development, New York State Labor Department, Niagara County Community College and the Niagara County Workforce Investment Board. The seminar is co-sponsored by State Sen. George Maziarz, the New York State Labor Department and the Western New York Regional Education Center for Economic Development. Speakers will describe how individuals or companies may receive information, assistance or training to assist their business and companies in the upgrade of existing employee training. Program to look at managing business SCORE of Buffalo Niagara has scheduled a program on starting and managing your own business from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Lackawanna Public Library, 560 Ridge Road, Lackawanna. The workshop is a must for new business startups to learn all the elements of business management required for success. It is also very helpful for those in business who may be experiencing problems or want to fine-tune their business for greater efficiency and success. Participants will learn about marketing research, marketing, business planning, insurance, federal and state taxes, legal structures, government resources, financing, counseling and more. Representatives from the private sector, SCORE and government agencies will make presentations. SCORE members will be available for counseling if desired. For more information, call 551-4301. |
