Pietrak named to Academic All-District team
      Tripp Pietrak, an Amherst resident and senior men's soccer player at Union College, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/ College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District First Team. Pietrak is eligible for the Academic All-America ballot.

      Jessica Mamon, a Williamsville resident, Williamsville South graduate and Erie Community College bowler, finished sixth with 1105 total pins at the Penn State Classic in Bellafonte, Pa. Nov. 10-11. She averaged 184.1. The women's team took third overall.

Rutecki earns all-star status
      Williamsville East junior Mark Rutecki was named an ECIC First Team division all-star. The 6-foot-7 Rutecki led the East boys volleyball team in kills, blocks and aces. "It is a nice honor for a player that played for an 'average team'," said East coach Randy Ball.

      The Amherst Minor Squirt "AA" team were clicking offensively in Jamestown as they scored three times in each period to post a 9-1 win. Linemates Connor Wagner, Zac Kozlin, and Josh Knauf combined for five goals with Kozlin and Wagner netting two and Knauf putting one.

      Joe Kramer and Dylan Wild paced the Blue Sabres to a 3-2 victory over the Blue Sabres. Kramer scored the game's first goal and picked up an assist later in the game. Max McArthur tied the game in the second period for the White Sabres on a nice individual effort.
