Squirt Red Wings beat Bruins, White Sabres

The Squirt Red Wings defeated the Bruins, 3-1, on Sunday.

The Red Wings opened the scoring on a play that began at their blue line. Marisa Notaro fed a perfect pass to a streaking Tim Kreuz, whose shot pulled Bruins' goalie Alex Bender out of position and Hunter Noll jumped on the rebound.

Tim Kreuz (Quinn Lacey, Nick Vermilye) finished off a passing play to give the Red Wings a 2-0 lead. It was short-lived as Ben Battaglia scored on an individual effort. Red Wing Michael Kreuz (Griffin Dunkle, Karim Hassanali) broke behind the defense and beat Bender cleanly.

Red Wings 4, White Sabres 2

The Red Wings fell behind early as Benjamin Wald (Maxwell McArthur) broke in on Red Wings goalie Joe Burke and found an opening.

Three minutes later, Peter Hillery (Griffin Dunkle, Karim Hassanali) found the back of the net. Michael Kreuz (Peter Hillery, Connor Tanevich) showed he has offensive as well as defensive skills by beating White Sabre goalie Joe Meosky. The second period was scoreless.

In the third, Dunkle teamed with Hillery to find Kreuz in the high slot and Kreuz buried a one-timer. The last goal came from Hillery (Hassanali, Tanevich) dipsy-doodling in to score on the surprised Meosky.
