Titan swimmers host meet, set nine club records The Town of Tonawanda Titans hosted a Halloween meet from Oct. 26 to 28 to kick off the short-course season. There were nine new club records set and 390 personal-best swims. Twenty-one Amherst residents competed for the Titans. Emily Kopas set a new Titans' club record with a U.S. Eastern Zone qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke. Kopas cut 30.33 seconds, resulting in all personal-best gold-level swims. Kopas earned Zone qualifying times in the 100 breaststroke and 200 backstroke. Jacob Hofmar-Glennon slashed 18.43 seconds, resulting in three gold times. Hofmar Glennon earned Zone qualifying times in the 100 and 200 back. Peter McCarthy chopped off 28.60 seconds for seven gold swims. Rebecca Anthone trimmed 35.73 seconds for two golds. Allison Kopas earned three golds, cutting 4.52 seconds. Alaina Laszewski had two gold swims, snipping 10.33 seconds. Leia Federiconi triumphed for two gold swims. Aleza Epstein was impressive with one gold and five silver swims. Lara Juhasz dazzled with 33.34 seconds cut and two silver swims. Allison McCarthy swam nine silver times, improving by 23.70 seconds. Dimitri Lippe exploded with five silver swims. Tom Mitchell burned off 43.61 seconds, scoring four silvers. Christina Ruggiero grabbed three silver times. Caitlin Schwinge drew silver. Katelyn Battaglia gained two silver times. Clare Battaglia soared in the 50 breast. Hayley Hofmar-Glennon blossomed, tearing 62.09 seconds from nine events. Olivia MacDonald snipped 5.79 seconds from four swims. Julia Mitchell had a stunning 200 free. Sierra Morahan triumphed in the 50 freestyle. Haley Epstein sparkled in three events.
