Double duty weekend for Clarence Swim Club

Clarence Swim Club participated in two separate swim meets this past weekend, a Bronze IMX in Brockport on Saturday and an open meet in East Aurora on Sunday.

The East Aurora meet welcomed 36 Clarence swimmers, including seven from the Learn-to-Swim connected with the club.

Andrew Cahalane (11) and Olivia Colson (8) participated in both meets.

Cahalane received a best time in the 100 IM, which he swam in both meets, in a time of 1:30.27. He also swam in the 100 back, 100 free, and 200 free at Brockport, and 50 free, 50 fly and 100 breast. Cahalane also broke his personal best time in the 200 free by almost five seconds.

Colson also had a great weekend, consistently improving on each of her events. Her efforts earned her nothing less than third place, including five golds, a silver, and a bronze medal. She swam a 25 of each event Saturday, revving herself up for the 100 back, 50 breast, and 200 free on Sunday.

Clarence will be participating in a few more meets this month, including a trip to Toledo, Ohio, for the second straight year. The tradition gives the team a chance to network with clubs in other states.

Participants in the Bronze IMX were Andrew Cahalane, Olivia Colson, Basia Tou.
