Community plan released, public hearing set for Dec. 4
by ELIZABETH TAUFA Reporter

The Williamsville Community Plan has been released to the public for viewing.

The Community Plan Committee reviewed the latest draft of the plan at a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and voted unanimously to release it for public review.

"I think it came out really well," said committee member David Brody to planning consultant Lawrence Bice of Behan Planning Associates. "You were able to capitalize the changes we made and balance it."

Other members also expressed their satisfaction with the plan and their confidence in releasing it to the public.

Copies of the plan will be available at Village Hall, 5565 Main St., and at the Williamsville Library, 5571 Main St.

An electronic version of the plan will also be available on the Village's Web site, www.village. williamsville.ny.us, by clicking on the Community Plan logo on the home page.

A public hearing on the draft will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the Williamsville South High School auditorium.

The first hour of the hearing is designed as a workshop for residents to attend, view materials related to the plan and ask questions about its content.

At 7 p.m., a presentation will be given by the planning consultants, and the floor will be opened for public comment at that time.

Any residents considering attending the public hearing are encouraged to review the plan at the available locations or online in advance of the session.

Postcards announcing the hearing will be mailed to village residents as the hearing date draws closer.

After the public hearing, the committee will meet again at the end of January to discuss any changes as a result of the hearing and then will pass the plan on to the Village Board.

The Village Board will review the plan, hold its own public hearing and then finalize the document. In addition, an environmental review will be completed, and a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement and Findings Statement will be produced.

For more information on the Community Plan, call Village Hall at 632-4120.
