Benefit for Jacquie Hirsch set A benefit for Jacquie Hirsch has been planned for Nov. 24, including a bone marrow drive by the National Bone Marrow Donor Program, which helps to find life saving donors for awaiting recipients, including Hirsch. Hirsch was diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia in September. Hirsch, 22, has been receiving chemotherapy treatments at Roswell Cancer Park Institute. She is a graduate of North High School and was completing her student teaching assignment through Geneseo State College. The Jacquie Hirsch For A.L.L Foundation has also planned a spaghetti dinner, basket raffle, silent auction, bake sale, sale items and entertainment. The proceeds will go directly to Hirsch's uninsured medical expenses associated with her treatment. The benefit has been scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at St. Leo The Great School, 903 Sweet Home Road. For information, visit www.buffalogymcenter.com/Jacquie.php. Hirsch's family owns the Greater Buffalo Gymnastics Center in Amherst. She was also a competitive gymnast. |
