FEMA grants extension

      Six months - that is how long the Federal Emergency Management Agency has granted for further removal of trees damaged from the October 2006 storm. That will allow the Town of Amherst more time to access and remove hazardous trees.

Benefit for Jacquie Hirsch set
      A benefit for Jacquie Hirsch has been planned for Nov. 24, including a bone marrow drive by the National Bone Marrow Donor Program, which helps to find life saving donors for awaiting recipients, including Hirsch. Hirsch was diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia in September.

Class ranking policy questioned at Amherst Schools

Amherst students honor Freedom Week by building, tearing down 'Berlin Wall'
