What if a racially diverse trio of singers reinterpreted the music of the Andrews Sisters, Buddy Holly, Elvis, The Beach Boys, The Beatles and many other artists?
The result would be MusicalFare Theatre's regional premiere of "A Brief History of White Music," through Dec. 9.
"A Brief History of White Music" sings the songs you grew up loving - as they've never been sung before. The production features Rodney Appleby, Kelly Krupski and Victoria Perez.
"A Brief History of White Music" was conceived by Dee Dee Thomas and David Tweedy. The production is directed and choreographed by Carlos Jones with music direction by Jason Br avo.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at MusicalFare Theatre at Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Amherst. Meet-the-cast talkbacks take place after all Wednesday performances. There is no show on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.
Tickets are $34 for Friday and Saturday evening performances, and $30 for Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday matinees, and are available by calling 839-8540 or online at www.musicalfare.com.
