• THE NUTCRACKER - Tickets
are now on sale for "The Nutcracker,"
Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 and 25 at
Shea's Performing Arts Center. The
performance features the Buffalo
Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ballet
Met. Tickets are available through the
Shea's box office, 650 Main St., and
through Ticketmaster at 852-5000 and

• TWO HONORED - Charles and
Raphaelle Proefrock, long-time
volunteers and current president and vice
treasurer, respectively, of the Herschell
Carrousel Factory Museum in North
Tonawanda, were Distinguished
Honorees at the Association of
Fundraising Professionals' National
Philanthropy Day 2007 lunch, held
Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Adam's Mark
Hotel. The Proefrocks have jointly
volunteered more than 42,000 hours
during the last 25 years.
• WINTER HOURS - Old Fort
Niagara in Youngstown will be open
from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily from
November through March. The last
admission each day will be at 4 p.m.
Old Fort Niagara will be closed Nov. 22,
Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. For more
