Pee Wee Stars shut out Flyers in opener

The Amherst Pee Wee Stars started its 2007-2008 season by defeating the Amherst Pee Wee Flyers, 10-0, on Sunday at the Pepsi Center.

A combination of speed and precise passing by the Star forwards combined with stout defense and great goaltending was the difference in the game.

Three goals by Tyler Richards, two by Nick Noe and Trevor Shaw and single tallies by Conor Mulvey, Mark Christy and Kyle Flierl accounted for the Stars tallies.

Goalie Alex Jackson was solid and made many key saves to preserve the shutout.
