Bisons defeat Batavia, fall short to Bakewell

The North Buffalo Bisons' Bantam Minor team shut out Batavia Rampart, 3-0, last Saturday.

The Bisons received goals from Alex Fritz (Evan Thur, Eric Adolf), Lucas Buscemi and Adolf (Thur, Ian McQuestion).

Conner Naughton faced 16 shots for the Bisons in recording the first shutout of the year.

Trailing 1-0, the Bisons came back in the second with two of their own to take the lead. Buscemi (Joshua Shupe, David Arthur) and Arthur (James Brand) notched tallies as the third period began with the Bisons up one.

Bakewell evened the score early, but Graig Knowlton (Adolf, McQuestion) put Buffalo up by one once again.

A power-play goal tied it up once again for Bakewell, and they went ahead 4-3 on another score a few minutes later in a penalty-filled contest. A shot along the ice by Marc Bezbatchenko hit the outside post as the seconds ticked by.

The Bisons (4-1) travel to Brockport and Batavia on the weekend.
