UBAM's Helak sets eight club records

The UB Amherst Swim Club competed at the Halloween Meet held at the Tonawanda Aquatics Center the weekend of Oct. 26.
Eight-year-old Alyssa Helak set eight club records: 50, 100 and 200 freestyle; 50 and 100 backstroke; 100 breaststroke; 100 butterfly; and 200 IM.
Jayman Jhattu broke the UBAM 8-and-under 100 back record in the boys division. Michael Lin and Jamie Ruh led the way for the senior swimmers. Lin won five individual events while swimming personal-best times in the 200 IM (2:02.22), 200 fly (2:11.52) and 400 IM (4:30.35). Ruh won four events while swimming best times in the 500 free (5:31.64), 200 IM (2:23.92), 400 IM (5:06.38), 200 fly (2:31.32) and 200 back (2:36.34).
UBAM swimmers combined for over 300 lifetime-best times.
