Goal scoring picks up in Buffalo In-line Hockey Group

Saturday was the day of the goal scorer for Buffalo In-line Hockey Group.

Sixteen players had at least a hat trick in league action.

Major division

Lightning 8, Blackhawks 6

Calvin Waley (Cheektowaga) and John Lyons (Amherst) each had three goals, and Waley added three assists to counter Adam Rainey's (Tonawanda) four goals for the Hawks.

Vikings 9, Warriors 8

The Vikes ran out to a big lead but had to rely on a shootout goal from Mike Heberlien to get the win.

Doug Smith (Cheektowaga) scored four times and Dennis Xenos (Amherst) added three goals for the Vikings.

Brad Owen (Tonawanda) added six goals for the Lightning.

Blues 11, Snipers 6

The division-leading Blues look like they can't be stopped as they stayed on a roll, getting five goals from Pat Smith (Amherst) and three from Josh Grant (Kenmore).

Eric Wright (Barker) scored five times for the Snipes.

Tornadoes 13, Killer Pandas 9

Isaac DeMaio earned player of the week for his nine-goal effort against the Pandas.

Luke Pronti had four assists in the win while Taylor Setlock (Tonawanda) scored five times in the loss.

Junior division

Storm 13, Junior Blues 9

Christian Curtola (Amherst) had an unbelievable 11 goals for the Storm and earned player of-the-week honors for the effort. Vicram Goel (Amherst) had a double hat trick for the Blues.

Cougars 9, Ghosts 4

Like the major division Blues, the Cougars look almost unbeatable. Evan Dressel (Amherst) scored four times, as five players had goals for the Cougars.

Knights 10, Capitals 4

Kevin Eberth (Cheektowaga), the leading goal scorer in the division, continued to pour it on with seven more goals in the victory.

After seven weeks, the Major Blues and Cougars sit on top of their respective divisions with perfect 7-0 records and appear to be unstoppable.
