Eleanor Adair, director of food service training at R. J. Reynolds Corp.

Eleanor Adair, 85, formerly of Williamsville, died on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Born in Batavia, Mrs. Adair was retired as director of training in the food service division of R. J. Reynolds Corporation. She also ran the Plaza Suite Restaurant in Buffalo for years.

She was named Volunteer of the Year for establishing the first soup kitchen in Myrtle Beach. She was a volunteer for the Chapin Memorial Library and Brook Green Gardens in Florida and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. She was also an active volunteer in Buffalo in the past.

She is survived by one sister, Barbara Goodman, of Tamarac, Fla. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore C. Pietrczak.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach.
