South senior named president of State K of C youth group

Andrew Esposito, a senior at Williamsville South High School, was installed as the State Chief Squire of the New York State Circle of Columbian Squires.

The Columbian Squires is the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus.

The installation was conducted at a Mass on Oct. 13 at Resurrection Church in Cheektowaga. Edward Castellazzi, state deputy of the Knights of Columbus, installed Esposito before a crowd of 200 people.

Castellazzi is leader of the more than 100,000 members of the Knights of Columbus in New York.

Esposito has been a member of the Squires for seven years and has held a state office for the past three years. He is a member of Fr. Justin Circle No. 2219, sponsored by Fr. Justin Council No. 5670 Knights of Columbus in Cheektowaga. He is a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Williamsville.

At South, he is co-captain of the varsity football team and a member of the varsity baseball team.

Another local member was also installed. Michael Jaoude, of Getzville, was named State Marshal Squire.
