North Bailey receives funds to replace 27-year-old engine The North Bailey Fire Company has received funding to purchase new rescue vehicles, which will enhance its first-responder capabilities. Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds, R-Amherst, said North Bailey Volunteer Fire Company will receive $261,250 through the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighter Grants Program. "Our local firefighters sacrifice their safety to serve their fellow neighbors," Reynolds said. "In return, we must provide the best rescue vehicles we can to keep them protected and allow them to serve us more effectively." North Bailey's chief, David Humbert, thanked Reynolds for the grant on behalf of the company. The grant will be used for a new fire engine/ pumper. "It is replacing a 1980 truck, and without this grant the fire company would have had quite a financial burden placed upon it," Humbert said. |
