Dunkin' Donuts has opened its 31st Western New Location. The newest store is located at 2155 Eggert Road in Amherst, at the intersection of Eggert, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Sheridan Drive, in the old Consumer Beverage building. Its first day of operation was Nov. 5.

Jorge V. José of Amherst, vice president for research at the University at Buffalo, has been elected a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Before joining UB, José was Matthews University Distinguished Professor and chair in the Department of Physics at Northeastern University and founding director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Complex Systems at Northeastern.

The American Heart Association recognized American Axle, Fisher-Price, CPL, Geico, Unifrax Corp, Greatbatch and Lockport Athletic & Fitness Club as Fit Friendly destinations.
