Knights pick up multiple victories

The Amherst "AAA" Mite Minor Knights hockey team picked up three wins.

Amherst 3, Regals 2

The Amherst AAA Mite Minor went home victorious after a 3-2 win against the Regals Friday night. Kellen Pulera put the first one in for Amherst assisted by linemates Matthew Barbolini and Eli Utz. Andrew Bruno tied it up and was assisted by Kevin Halpern and Pulera. Anthony Trigilio had the game-winning goal assisted by Zach Rehbaum.

Goalie Ben Weppner was superb, making some great saves.

Amherst 8, Syracuse 0

Goalie John Kubiak shut the door on Syracuse in leading his team to an 8-0 win.

Andrew Bruno started the scoring assisted by Sean MacLeay. Matthew Barbolini scored twice, assisted by Kellen Pulera and Eli Utz. MacLeay got two more goals assisted by CJ Goss, Kevin Halpern and Bruno. Zach Rehbaum also had two goals; his were assisted by Patrick Gilbert and Spencer Frome. Frome finished the scoring with a nice one assisted by Griffin Green.

Amherst 5, Syracuse 1

The AAA Mite Minor continued their winning streak with a 5-1 win over Syracuse on Saturday.

Zach Rehbaum scored the first two goals; one was assisted by Patrick Gilbert. Matthew Barbolini put Amherst ahead scoring with a rebound shot from Kellen Pulera. Gilbert had her fourth goal assisted by Rehbaum and Spencer Frome.

Defenseman Griffin Green went end to end to close the scoring for Amherst. Goalie Ben Weppner was great at keeping Syracuse in check.
