LEAGUE CHAMPIONS - The Sacred Heart junior varsity soccer team ended its season last week with a 4-0 victory over Immaculata. The team had clinched the league championship title in their previous game, a 1-0 win over Mount St. Mary's. Led by sophomore captains Abbey Merhige, Emma Frieh, Kelsey McArthur, and Sara Schoonmaker, the team started the season with nine consecutive wins before suffering their only loss of the season. The team ended the season with a 11-1 record and only conceded seven goals to their opponents. Every player on the team had at least a goal or an assist en route to winning its first league championship in more than six years.
