Sister Anne Marie Gavin, 75, of Williamsville, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at St. Mary of the Angels Heath Care Center, Williamsville.
Born in Scranton, Pa., She received a bachelor's degree in education from Mount St. Joseph's Teachers College, and a master's degree from the University of Puerto Rico.
She had been a Sister of St. Francis for 46 years. She worked for 34 years in Puerto Rico at Madre Cabrini School, Colegio San Luis Rey and St. Mary of the Angels, as a teacher and principal.
She also volunteered in the Madre Cabrini soup kitchen and AIDS program for years. Most recently, she had been a caretaker for the elderly at Holy Family Home in Williamsville.
Sister Gavin is survived by nieces and nephews. Services were held on Friday, Oct. 26 in the chapel of St. Mary of the Angels, Williamsville.
