Marilynne M. Robertson, retired UB employee

Marilynne M. Robertson, 89, of Amherst, died on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007.

Born in Clear Lake, Iowa, Mrs. Robertson graduated from Rapid City High School, S.D. in 1936 and San Bernardino Junior College in 1939. As a young person, she enjoyed flying open cockpit biplanes with her father. She served as a civilian employee of the U.S. Army Air Corp at Key Field in Meridian, Miss. during World War II.

She was employed in the chemistry department at the University at Buffalo from 1964 until her retirement in 1989.

Mrs. Robertson was a member of Buffalo First Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the church governing board, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She also sang in a number of community choirs in Western New York.

Mrs. Robertson was predeceased by her husband, Fred H. She is survived by one son, the Rev. Dr. Charles T. Robertson of Blue Springs, Mo., and two grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Dengler & Roberts Funeral Home, Kenmore.
