Farrell installed as president of state association

The New York State Magistrates Association has announced that Amherst Town Justice Mark G. Farrell has been installed as president of the New York State Magistrates Association for the 2007-2008 association year.

Farrell was installed at the annual meeting of the Magistrates Association at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y. on Oct. 3.

The NYS Magistrates Association represents approximately 2,200 town and village justices, including more than 1,300 separate courts.

Farrell has served Amherst since 1994. He is also an acting associate Buffalo City Court judge and is a presiding judge of the Amherst Drug, Gambling and Domestic Violence Treatment court system.
