College event gets out of hand, police call for backup Daemen College students gathered at the Charles Wick Center for a Multi-Cultural Association party became involved in several fights that required the response of four police units. Amherst Police Assistance Chief Timothy Green said patrols were called to the college, 4380 Main St., at 1:45 a.m. Oct. 21 for a group of 100 students that were "out of control." Green said several fights had broken out and the University at Buffalo, Cheektowaga and Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority police units were called to assist. One arrest was made during the commotion. Damone Cannon, 19, was charged with disorderly conduct. The arresting officer reported that Cannon started a fight with someone in front of him. The crowd dispersed without any other incidents. |
