Couple celebrate 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Golba

Irene and Joseph Golba of Depew celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Ripa's Restaurant in Lancaster.

Joseph Golba married the former Irene Surdy on Oct. 19, 1957 at Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo.

Joseph is a retired research technologist from Praxair in Tonawanda. Irene is a retired bus driver for Lancaster Central Schools.

The couple are members of the Cheektowaga Travel Club. Joe enjoys gardening and woodcarving. Irene enjoys painting, Scrabble and other word games.

They have three children and seven grandchildren.
