New York, New York!

Conductor Marvin Hamlisch, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the St. Joe's Swing Choir are heading to Broadway through Kleinhans Music Hall when "New York, New York" is presented at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

The show will pay a loving tribute to NYC and Broadway music with Broadway singer Darius de Haas. The program includes favorites from Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess," Leonard Bernstein's "On the Town" and more recent musicals including "Les Miserables."

Darius de Haas made his Broadway debut in "Kiss of the Spider Woman." He went on to be featured in various Broadway productions, including "Carousel," "Rent" and "Marie Christine." He toured internationally in the world premiere of "I Was Looking At The Ceiling" and won the Obie award for his work in the title role of Off-Broadway's "Running Man." He has also appeared in film and TV and his voice can be heard on the film soundtracks of "Anastasia," "Martin & Orloff " and the Oscar-winning "Chicago." His critically acclaimed solo debut CD is called "Darius de Haas: Day Dream, Variations on Strayhorn."

Tickets for the main floor are sold out, but limited balcony seats are still available. For tickets, call 885-5000 or visit www. bpo. org.
