McGuire Development Company receives $1.5 million NYSERDA grant

McGuire Development Company received a $1.5 million dollar loan reduction grant from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, known as NYSERDA, for a new medical office building at 400 International Drive in Amherst.

The loan equates to $600,000 in savings off the total project cost. The grant is based on use of energy efficient building and equipment materials, recycled steel and metal studs. The building is also heated and cooled by a high efficiency water source heat pump system.

The NYSERDA process was executed through collaboration between the developer McGuire Development Company, architect Carmina & Wood and engineering firm Buffalo Engineering.

"McGuire Development Company focused on energy efficient and eco-friendly materials for this state-of-the-art medical office building," said James F. Dentinger, president of McGuire Development Company.

Dr. Michael Landi and the doctors at The Brain and Spine Center will anchor approximately half of the two-story, 43,000-square-foot building. The remaining portion has also been leased. The project opening is scheduled for Nov. 6.
