 | | WHAT A DEBUT - In their rookie competitive season, the Amherst Broncos JPW Cheerleaders placed first in the intermediate division and earned the Western New York league title at the WNY Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Championships at R.I.T. The small Amherst squad, who outscored many larger and more experienced Rochester teams, stunned the competition with their flawless routine. Competing against squads twice their size, the newcomers excelled with strong partner stunts, choreography and tumbling. The girls, who are between the ages of 8 and 10, have previous cheer and/or gymnastics experience but have only been training together since August. Members of the team, pictured from left, are: front - Julia Guzy, Sydney Litwin, Julia DiNoto, Wendy Woite, Vicky Woite (mascot), Allie Scumaci, Lacey Woite, Kaily Martens; back row - coach Julianna Woite and Taylor Balser. |
