Big scores equal huge wins
Buffalo In-line Hockey Group

Last Saturday proved to be a goal-scoring day in the world of Buffalo In-line Hockey Group. High scoring games and skaters were the story of the day.

Major Division

Snipers 13, Lightning 10

Eric Wright and Rob Russell (Tonawanda) each scored five goals and Josh Vaccaro (Amherst) had three assists to lead the Snipers. Calvin Waley (Cheektowaga) had six goals and Greg Newman (Tonawanda) recorded a hat trick for the Lightning.

Blues 10, Warriors 2

The division-leading Blues continued their surge by getting hat tricks from Pat Smith (Amherst) and Josh Grant (Kenmore) and able goaltending from Ron Carslisle (Tonawanda).

Killer Pandas 7, Vikings 4

Taylor Setlock (Tonawanda) and David Campuzano are two of the most decorated players in the history of BIHG and watching them go against each other is always a treat. Setlock came out on top this time, leading his Pandas with four scores and a staunch defensive effort.

Blackhawks 14, Tornadoes 4 The Hawks continued the offensive marathon, led by player of the week Justin Swan (Tonawanda), who found the back of the net eight times. Justin's brother Jason had three more goals.

Junior Division

Cougars 11, Storm 7

Benjamin Speyer (Amherst) scored five times and Evan Dressel matched Speyer and added two assists for the Cougars. Christian Curtola (Amherst) had a hat trick for the Storm.

Knights 9, Junior Blues 4

Kevin Eberth (Cheektowaga) has been a goal-scoring machine the season in the junior division and nothing changed on Saturday as he scored eight of the nine goals for the winners. Nick Antoniadis registered a hat trick for the Blues.

Capitals 8, Grey Ghosts 5

Ryan Sutton earned junior division player of the week honors for his netminding. Jed Bass (Amherst) and Tim Rinaldi (Amherst) were strong for the Capitals.

When the pucks stopped flying, the Major Blues and Cougars stayed on top of their respective divisions with perfect 5-0 records.
