Army Freshman tame Buffaloes

The Williamsville Jr. Army Freshman improved to 5-2 with a 32-12 victory over the Tonawanda Buffaloes.

Conner Kelly took the ball 45 yards on Army's opening drive for the first of his two touchdowns and Army never looked back, building a 32-point lead.

Also adding touchdowns for Army was Brayden Homberger (50 yards), Alex Stone (60 yards) and Tyler Kruse (40 yards).

Tonawanda scored twice late in the fourth quarter to stop Army from getting its fifth shutout of the season.

Commandos 26, Panthers 18

The Williamsville 105-pound Commandos finished the regular season on a high note with a 26-18 victory over the Sweet Home Panthers.

Quarterback Brendan Wynia was able to engineer a few scoring drives behind his line which was anchored by right end Jordan Buell. Tailback Ben Noel, who ran for three scores, was joined in the end zone by wingback Vincent Gregory.

Defensive lineman Mike Gentile pressured Sweet Home's quarterback, allowing left cornerback, Ryan Konotopskyj, to intercept a pass late in the game as the Panthers tried to tie the score.

The Commandos finished the season 4-3.
