South boys pick up league win, girls take fifth at Clarence invite The Williamsville South boys cross country team got its second win of the season last Tuesday, beating West Seneca East, 15-50, and losing to Lake Shore, 17-40. South was led by John Stark, followed closely by Mike Herr, Bruce Hibler, Chris Bowers, Jake Vogan, and Will and Rob Freeman. On Saturday, the boys finished seventh out of 10 teams at the Clarence Fall Classic at Akron Falls Park. Herr was the top finisher for South at 28th place in 20:08, followed by Hibler (32nd), Stark (42nd), Bowers (45th), Vogan (46th), and Rob Freeman (58th). South girls The girls' team suffered two losses to Lake Shore, 20-35, and West Seneca East, 23-32. The Lady Billies was once again led by Amanda Breymeier, followed by Colleen Hurtubise, Jenny Mooney, Maxine Meyerhofer, Laura Johnston, Rachel Zucker, and Lauren Mosier. The girls took fifth out of 10 teams at the Clarence Fall Classic on Saturday. Breymeier was fourth in 21:09, followed by Mooney (15th), Meyerhofer (25th), and Hurtubise, Zucker, and Johnston in 37th, 38th, and 39th place, respectively. Santana Coon broke into the top seven for the first time this season with a 48th place. |
