Janice M. Horbowicz of East Amherst, a Prudential Insurance retiree, received a Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants Award of $1,000 for the American Diabetes Association. She dedicated 175 hours to the association in 2006. The Prudential Foundation and Prudential Financial recently provided $461,000 in Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants to 444 nonprofit organizations worldwide. She served on the committees for the Winter Walk, Tour de Cure (bike ride) and America's Walk for Diabetes. The three events raised approximately $450,000.
