MARK THE SITE - Parishioners of St. Mary's Church in Swormville stake out the boundaries of their new church on Oct. 14 at an event that included a blessing of the site by the Rev. Robert M. Yetter. Alec Siskar, 10, of Clarence, and other children placed the stakes. He is assisted by Brian Brault, also of Clarence. St. Mary's, which is located at the corner of Transit and Stahley roads, serves the communities of East Amherst, Clarence Center and South Lockport. The official groundbreaking will take place in spring 2008. The new church will seat 1,000 people and feature updated amenities. The existing church dates to 1866 and has 2,400 families registered.
