Town hosts flu shot locations

The Town of Amherst will be hosting two locations for flu shots.

From noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, shots will be administered at North Amherst Fire Company, 2200 Tonawanda Creek Road. And from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, shots will be administered at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road.

The VNA Immunization Program is providing flu shots. Those wishing to receive a shot must bring their insurance cards.

The following will be accepted: Medicare Part B, Independent Health, Univera, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of WNY.

For those not covered by insurance, flu shots are $30 and pneumonia shots are $45. Checks made payable to VNA Home Care. Cash is also accepted.
