Second fatal accident reported in week

Amherst Police Traffic Unit Capt. Patrick McKenna has reported the Town's second fatal accident in a week.

Carl Seyfert, 69, died on Sunday at Erie County Medical Center following an accident on Oct. 16. Mr. Seyfert had crashed his vehicle into a house at 1975 Dodge Road.

No skid marks were found at the scene, indicating brakes were not applied before the crash.

No further information on the cause of the accident was available at press time.

On Oct. 15 Amherst Police reported the death of a 77-year-old man involved in an accident on Transit Road on Oct. 14.

Kenneth C. Boyd of California died at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. The cause of death was injuries from the accident with a pre-existing heart condition.
