Red Ribbon Week teaches pupils about the right choices

      Students around Amherst rallied together on Monday for the kickoff of Red Ribbon Week - Oct. 22-26. Dressed in red, or proudly wearing their red ribbons, students are making a visual statement, saying they pledge to be drug and alcohol free.

Walgreen's ready to move to next phase with planning board OK

      Proposed development at an already-busy intersection has once again come before the Planning Board. This time the board voted "yes," recommending the rezoning of 501 and 545 West Klein Road and 804 Hopkins Road, which are earmarked by Arista Development for a new Walgreen's Pharmacy.

Arrest made two blocks from crime scene
      An Amherst man left with nothing, but is facing several charges in an attempted robbery. Amherst Police Officer Bob McMahon came across four males just blocks from the Sunoco Station, 665 Millersport Highway, where an attempted robbery was reported at 11:50 p.m. Monday.
