Exceptional North seniors recognized
by KATE FASSL

Mulvihill
Williamsville North Student Council proudly recognizes the extraordinary achievements of two members of its senior class each month. Students featured in this column are selected by factually recommendation. The Senior Spartan Spots for October are Kelsey Mulvihill and Ben Zwierchowski.

Mulvihill, daughter of John and Sara Mulvihill of Williamsville, is captain of North's varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse teams. While leading the lacrosse team, they were named the second team in All-Western New York.

Not only is she leading her two teams to many victories, but also she is maintaining outstanding grades while doing so. In the spring of 2007, she was named a top scholar for having the highest grade point average on her team. Mulvihill is in North's National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and D.E.C.A (North's business team), where was named a regional finalist.

She is also very active in Student Council, helping out with the plans for homecoming.

Aside from Kelsey's many triumphs in school, she is a very active member of the community. Mulvihill can be seen volunteering for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children; she even got her school involved by organizing a fundraiser to benefit The Ride for Missing Children.

Zwierchowski
Mulvihill cares for children so much she even organized a "kiddie camp" during the summer. In her free time, Mulvihill loves cheering on her fellow classmates at sporting events and traveling.

Although she is still searching for the right school, Mulvihill is interested in possibly attending the University of Richmond, majoring in international law or business.

Zwierchowski, son of Joe and Kathy Zwierchowski of East Amherst, is a fierce competitor both in school and in sports. Zwierchowski participates in North's National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and in the business team, D.E.C.A.

He is also a writer for Fusion, the school's newspaper, a member of Student Council, and is the leader of North's Green Squall, the "most spirited sports fans in Williamsville."

Aside from managing all of North's sports fans, Zwierchowski is involved with a couple of sports himself. For three years, he has been the pitcher on North's varsity baseball team and he plays on the varsity volleyball team.

Along with all of his work to benefit the school, Zwierchowski also volunteers for Carly's Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Brian Moorman Foundation. Outside school, Zwierchowski enjoys listening to music, traveling, watching sports and running.

After graduation he plans to study medicine and play baseball at Tufts University, the University of Vermont or the University of Pennsylvania.
