Bisons Bantam Minor fall short in Canandaigua

The North Buffalo Bisons Bantam Minor hockey team finished third at the Canandaigua Tournament over the weekend.

The Bisons dropped games to Brockport, 4-1, and Canandaigua, 7-3, and defeated Monroe County, 2-1. Tallying for the Bisons were Alex Fritz against Brockport and David Arthur (Eric Adolf, Lucas Buscemi), Sam Romano (JC Grabenstatter), and Buscemi (unassisted) versus Canandaigua. Conner Naughton and Jim Basil took turns between the pipes for the Bisons.

In the victory over Monroe County, solid play by the defense kept the Eagles away from the net. James Brand, Brad Martynovicz, Marc Bezbatchenko, Josh Little, Jake Pugliese, Sean Basil, Jim Frauenhofer, Jordan Rusek, and Joshua Shupe all had strong efforts. Ian McQuestion (unassisted) and Romano (Graig Knowlton, Evan Thur) scored for the Bisons.

Fritz, Adolf, and Buscemi were named by opposing coach as game MVP for the Bisons.

Up next is an away game on Sunday evening at Hyde Park against the Coyotes.
