CLOSE RALLY - St. Benedict's JV baseball team lost in the finals of the North Town National League, 10-8, to St. Christopher's. The Tigers jumped out to a 4-1 lead on a P.J. Anders' triple and Patrick MacDonald's three-run home run. St. Christopher's took a 10-5 lead heading into the last inning, but a furious St. Benedict's rally, led by triples from Paul Battaglia and Vince Gregory, cut the deficit to 10-8 and put the tying runs on base. However, St. Christopher's retired the next three batters to close out the game. The Tigers finished 8-1 and shared the regular-season championship. Members of the team, pictured from left, are: first row - Will Boerema, Vincent Gregory, Julia Blujus, Devon Florczak, John O'Rourke and Joey Wittmann; second row - coach Mike MacDonald, P.J. Anders, Sean Klute, Patrick MacDonald, Colin Tenney, Joey Insalaco and coach Mike Florczak.
