Dr. Walter Witold Sielski, dentist

Dr. Walter Witold Sielski, 97, of Snyder, died on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Sielski attended School 57, East High School, Canisius College and the University at Buffalo's School of Dentistry. He played basketball in high school and lettered in basketball at UB.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, holding the rank of Captain in the Dental Corps. He was a D-Day veteran.

He had a dental practice in the Polish Union Hall in Buffalo, retiring in 1985.

He was a long time member of the Polish Falcons Club and the Adam Plewacki Post. An avid golfer, he was also a member of the Lancaster Country Club for many years. He enjoyed traveling to Poland, Italy and Greece.

Dr. Sielski is survived by his wife of 70 years, Martha J.; two sons, Dr. Lester S.; and John W; one daughter, Eve M. Bochenek and one brother, Steven.

Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Christ the King Church, Snyder.
