Barnes & Noble to open new store on Oct. 24

Barnes & Noble Inc. will open a new bookstore on Saturday, Oct. 24 in the plaza at Main and Transit at 4401 Transit Road, Clarence.

Concurrently, the existing store at 7370 Transit Road, Williamsville, will close. The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a café serving Starbucks coffee. The new Clarence Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Clarence Barnes & Noble from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Buffalo Public Schools. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. with Clarence Town Supervisor Kathleen Hallock.

Storyteller Jeff Criden and Reader's Theater will perform throughout the evening. Students from the Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening. Students from the Academy and other schools in the Buffalo School District will have artwork displayed in the café. Curious George will be on hand to meet his fans.
