Army Freshman improves record

The Williamsville Jr. Army Freshman improved to 3-2 with its third shutout victory of the season Saturday over North Tonawanda.

The Army dominated the NT offense all game with many big plays by Jacob Chella, Tyler Kruse, Conner Kelly, Joe Malinowski and Andrew Schleicher. Brayden Homberger came up with a fumble recovery for the only turnover.

QB Carter Wild ran in for the first score and Matthew Terrance put the game away with a third quarter TD.

North Tonawanda 6

The Army rushed for 209 yards. Dennis Gilbert completed five passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Keenehan (four receptions, 75 yards) and Adam Dentico (two receptions, 16 yards, TD) got solid blocking from Andrew Miske, Quinn Keenan, Robby Zabel, Noah Milling, Ryan Downing and Jacob Huber.

Defensively, Zac Kelly, Nick Iacono, Nathan Halter and Chad Steinwachs constantly kept the 49ers on their heels. Sean Sada, making his first start, was a stabilizing force in the middle of the line.
