South girls beat Pioneer

Williamsville South's cross country teams traveled to Sprague Brook Park on Tuesday, Oct. 2 to compete against Iroquois and Pioneer in an ECIC Division II meet.

The girls team ran very well, beating Pioneer 19-42 and losing to a powerful Iroquois team, 22-35.

Amanda Breymeier won her second divisional dual meet in a time of 22:23. Colleen Hurtubise (seventh), M.C. Aungst (eighth), Maxine Meyerhofer (11th), Laura Johnston (12th), Jenny Mooney (16th) and Rachel Zucker (20th) completed the scoring.

The boys lost to Pioneer, 27-30, and Iroquois, 21-34. Dave Quinlan once again led the way for South with a fifth-place finish in 19:43. John Stark (ninth), Mike Herr (10th), Russ Schiess (12th), Leo Schultz (13th), Bruce Hibler (14th) and Chris Bowers (18th) also ran.
