Shop early at center

Anyone looking to get a jump on holiday shopping will have their chance at the Amherst Center for Senior Services club sales.

The center will hold three fall sales before the holiday season: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Oct. 15-18 and Tuesday, Nov. 20; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

A wide assortment of handmade items will be for sale, including sweaters, scarves, baby items, afghans and mittens, made by members of the center's Knitting Club.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Senior Center.

The center's gift shop will also be open and will offer a wide assortment of gift items and cards.
